WHAT IS BADMINTON?
Badminton is a racquet sport played by either two opposing players or pairs. The game is played with a shuttlecock and its aerodynamic properties cause it to travel differently to that of balls used in most racquet sports. Although they decelerate more rapidly than a ball, a shuttlecock has a much higher top speed.

Playing badminton can be an energetic or light workout but either way, it demands a high quality of fitness in order to have quick reaction times, freedom of movement. The entire body is used due to the large range of movement involved and players require aerobic stamina, agility, explosive strength, speed and precision.

The most common badminton injuries happen in the leg such as sprained ankles, achilles tendonitis and patella tendonitis but also tennis elbow and rotator cuff injury occur as well as general muscle strain are regularly noted.
